After the thunderstorms a few days ago, I had a leak and called a friend who's a roofer to take a look. He said the chimney crown was cracked and recommended that I contact your company. How soon can your company come out to take a look at my chimney?
Answer
Hi Scott! Yes, a cracked chimney crown can definitely allow water into your chimney, especially during heavy or wind-driven rain. The crown is designed to help shed water away from the top of the chimney, so once it becomes cracked or deteriorated, water can find its way into places it shouldn’t. That doesn’t necessarily mean the crown is the only source of your leak, though. We’d want to take a look at the entire chimney and surrounding area before recommending any repairs.
