I have a few bricks by my back door that started with small cracks, but they seem to be getting worse. Itโs been happening slowly for about a year. Is this something that can be repaired without replacing the whole area?
Answer
Yes, this is something we repair pretty regularly. If only a few bricks near the back door are cracked, it usually doesn’t mean the whole area needs to be rebuilt. We would first look at the bricks and mortar to see what’s causing the cracking and how far it goes. In many cases, we can remove the damaged bricks and replace them individually. We try to match the existing brick as closely as possible so the repair blends in. It’s better to take care of cracked bricks before water gets into the damaged areas and makes things worse. The first step would be having us come out and take a look at it.
