The bricks closest to my driveway look much older than the rest of the house even though they were all built at the same time. Why would one area age faster than everything around it?
Answer
Because that area has a tougher job. The bricks near driveways get hit with water, snow, road salt, and freeze-thaw cycles far more than most other areas of the house. We see it all the time where one section looks twenty years older than the rest of the wall. The good news is it doesn’t necessarily mean the entire wall needs repair. Sometimes it’s just that one area that’s taken the abuse.
