The bricks on my porch are starting to shift, and I can actually feel the top cement cap move a little when I walk on it. Does that mean the whole porch is shot?

Movement of your porch cap is not something to ignore. Ferndale tends to be a busy area for us when it comes to brick porches. The brick homes are beautiful but they require maintenance when it comes to the masonry. When the bricks start shifting and the porch cap moves it means the bricks are no longer supporting porch cap properly & a full rebuild is appropriate. Attempting to do anything else is asking for trouble. That porch cap is extremely heavy & for it to move means it’s on its last leg. Probably not what you want to hear but better to tell you the truth than try to sugar coat it. We suggest you do something about it before someone gets hurt.
