A branch that was covered in ice fell & loosened several bricks on the side of my chimney . Can that section be rebuilt without touching the whole chimney?

Rebuilding just the affected section can hold for years if the surrounding bricks are still sound. What changes the timeline is the scope of the work is if more bricks start loosening due to moisture & freezing cause expansion & spreading the damage further.
