Should I be worried if the mortar between the bricks on the back of my house has started disappearing?
Answer
Missing mortar is fairly common, especially on walls that stay damp or don’t get much sunlight. We remove the deteriorated mortar, clean the joints thoroughly, and install new mortar to strengthen and protect the wall. If the bricks themselves are still in good shape, they usually don’t need to be replaced. Matching the new mortar to the existing joints also helps the repair blend in better. Once the work is finished, the wall is stronger, better sealed, and looks much more uniform.
