I've been told my chimney should be rebuilt. Are there any other repair options?
Answer
Maybe. A full rebuild isn’t always necessary. It depends on the condition of the chimney and how much of it has deteriorated. One option may be a partial rebuild if only the upper portion of the chimney is damaged. Another option could be tuckpointing, replacing the chimney crown, or replacing individual damaged bricks if the structure is otherwise sound. We’ll inspect the chimney from top to bottom before making any recommendations. If a repair can safely extend the life of your chimney, we’ll explain that option. If a rebuild truly is the best long-term investment, we’ll explain why and show you what we found during the inspection.
