EXCELLENT Based on 114 reviews Posted on Google Jeff SkarbTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I live in a small bungalow in Royal Oak and had quite a bit of work that needed to be done on my house. This included replacing bricks on the front and side walls, tuck pointing the porch, and repairing the chimney, which had developed significant cracking. I reached out to Easy Home Improvement and was able to schedule a walkthrough with Ken just a few days later. He provided a quote for the porch and front of the house, but explained that quoting the chimney was tricky without getting on the roof. He said they’d assess it on the day of the job if I decided to move forward, which I did, as the pricing seemed pretty competitive given the scope of what needed to get done. On the scheduled day, Sam and Rick showed up. Sam climbed onto the roof, assessed the chimney quickly, identified that it needed tuck pointing and a new crown, and gave me a price for adding it onto the original quote. I figured the job would take at least two days, especially with a two-hour rain delay, but to my surprise, they managed to complete 99% of the work that same day, even working late to make sure the job got done. The next day, Sam and Rick came back to finish the final touches, and everything looked great. They clearly know their craft and went above and beyond for me. I genuinely felt like they had my best interests in mind and weren’t just trying to upsell me. On top of that, Easy Home Improvement offers 18-month 0% interest financing, which made paying for the job a lot easier. I’d absolutely use Easy Home Improvement again and would recommend them to anyone needing brickwork, tuck pointing, or chimney repairs done.Posted on Google Peggy BarrettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They were excellent, very professional. I would recommend them to everyone. I couldn’t have found a better company. They were here on time and did the job, asked me if I was ok with the work and they were gone. So happy with them.Posted on Google MI KEHTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I'm very happy with the outstanding result of Easy Home Improvement. Sam and his crew repaired the brick porch, demolished the wood deck and built a concrete patio w/limestone steps beautifully. They're very knowledgeable and very communicative throughout the process. I highly recommend them for any masonry work (and other projects too)!Posted on Google C GrayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These 2 super nice guys, Sam and Rick did an excellent job at my house in Lincoln Park on my chimney. Before and after picturesPosted on Google Michael OBrienTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Easy Home Improvement came to my house in Bloomfield Hills to replace the cap on my chimney and tuck point several layers of brick. They showed up on time, explained what they were going to do, completed the work in a timely and organized manner. They then cleaned up and explained what they did. I was very pleased with their work and would highly recommend their services.Posted on Google Amy MeehanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was our second job done by Easy Home Improvement at our home in Royal Oak. Excellent work both times. Today they refurbished our front porch. Lots of care shown to our property and to details to make sure we'd be happy with the outcome. Sam did the work today and did a great job. Very short turnaround from calling for an estimate to work being scheduled and completed. Now we can get on with our summer.Posted on Google Neil WoodTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ✔️ 1. How do I know if I need brick repair or a rebuild?
Cracked, loose, or chipped bricks in small areas = repair. Bowing, sinking, or separating walls = rebuild. Repairs fix localized damage; rebuilds fix structural movement.
✔️ 2. Why is my brick wall cracking or crumbling?
Freeze–thaw cycles, water penetration causing spalling and flaking, old mortar allowing moisture to spread.
✔️ 3. Can damaged or crumbling bricks be fixed?
Yes—cracked or spalled bricks can be replaced individually. Matching bricks restore strength and appearance. Early repair prevents larger structural failure.
✔️ 4. Why are mortar joints cracking or falling out?
Freeze–thaw pressure pushes mortar out; water intrusion widens gaps; failing mortar leads to shifting bricks and wall instability.
✔️ 5. How long does brick masonry repair take?
Small repairs often finished in one day; medium repairs 1–2 days; larger restorations vary; most projects quick with minimal disruption.

✔️ 1. Do I need chimney repair or a full chimney rebuild?
Small cracks, damaged brick, or a worn crown = repair. Leaning, unstable, or heavily deteriorated chimneys = rebuild. Repairs handle surface problems; rebuilds fix structural failure.
✔️ 2. What’s the difference between a chimney crown and a concrete cap?
Concrete Cap: flat top that blocks rain and debris; Chimney Crown: sloped top that directs water away. Both protect against water intrusion—the main cause of chimney damage in Michigan.
✔️ 3. Why is my chimney cracking, leaking, or deteriorating?
Freeze–thaw cycles expand moisture trapped in bricks; cracked crowns, damaged caps, open joints let water in; long-term moisture causes spalling bricks and structural weakening.
✔️ 4. Can chimney bricks or crowns be repaired?
Yes—damaged bricks can be replaced individually. Cracked or failing crowns can be rebuilt or resurfaced. Repairing early prevents leaks, interior damage, and costly rebuilds.
✔️ 5. How long do chimney repairs take?
Most crown and cap repairs are done in one day; brick repairs or partial rebuilds may take 1–2 days; full chimney rebuilds take longer depending on height and access.

✔️ 1. Why is my mortar cracking or falling out?
Freeze–thaw cycles force mortar out of joints; water penetration breaks down aging mortar; cracked joints allow moisture to spread and weaken the wall.
✔️ 2. How do I know if I need tuckpointing or a bigger repair?
Cracked, missing, or loose mortar = tuckpointing; shifting bricks or wall movement = larger masonry repair; tuckpointing fixes surface joint damage; major issues may need rebuilding.
✔️ 3. What does tuckpointing do on a brick house?
Removes deteriorated mortar from joints; installs fresh, durable mortar to restore strength; seals the wall against water intrusion and weather damage.
✔️ 4. Can crumbling or deteriorated mortar be repaired?
Yes—old mortar is removed and replaced cleanly; strengthens the wall and stops moisture penetration; prevents loose bricks, leaks, and long-term issues.
✔️ 5. How long does tuckpointing last?
Quality work typically lasts 5–30 years; lifespan depends on weather exposure and maintenance; early repair dramatically extends the life of the brickwork.
